Priority Painting Company is a Traverse City-based business built on craftsmanship, family roots, and a genuine love for making spaces feel beautiful. At the heart of the company is Ashley, a professional painter whose journey began through hands-on experience in her father’s contracting business.
Determined to raise the standards in the contracting world, she immersed herself in the painting and finishing trade, eventually taking full responsibility for that part of the business.
The name “Priority” carries special meaning.
It’s a nod to a former family business run by Ashley’s father and uncle. For the past five years, she has been running Priority Painting Company with the same values that shaped her upbringing: attention to detail, clear communication, and a deep respect for the spaces people call home.
Ashley especially loves working with homeowners who care deeply about their space. She knows what it means to live in a home you’ve poured your time and energy into, and she takes that responsibility seriously. People’s homes aren’t just business transactions; Ashley seeks to make each customer feel genuinely cared for.
One of her most memorable and toughest jobs was her very first cabinet project. From unexpected setbacks to last-minute problem-solving, it turned into a favorite because it reinforced a core belief: some jobs go smoothly, and some teach you a lesson you didn’t know you needed. Though she has come a long way from those days, she continues to embrace her value of having humility and a growth mindset.
When she’s not painting, you’ll probably find Ashley outside with her partner, Colleen, cooking, rock hounding, or chasing sunshine.
